What do I need to bring?
This depends on the type of appointment but typically consists of the following items:
- Your license/state ID,
- birth certificate with parents names (not birth registration certificates or hospital ones with footprints)
- marriage certificate if you have changed your name
- OR Passport (with current name).
- Other possible documents can include: green cards, naturalization certificates, citizens born abroad certificates, foreign passports.

Do kids need PreCheck?
Children under 17 will get pre check if an adult on their reservation has precheck. However, if the children are traveling with others (school/church/friends), they should apply for their own. It lasts the same 5 years.
To get a child TSA Pre Check they would need either a passport or a state ID and their birth certificate.
What if my birth certificate doesn’t have my parents’ names on it/or says "Birth Registration Certificate"/or is a Hospital Certificate?
If your birth certificate does not contain your parents’ names you have 2 options:
1. Birth Certify -We can try to validate your birth record with your mother’s maiden last name, so you can complete your appointment today. Price is in addition to the service and varies by state. Searchable years vary by state. (NJ records start 1965- $37.50) (PA records start 1921 -$19.80) (DE records start 1935 $37.50) (NYC *5 boroughs only* born start 1920 $25.70) (Not available for births in TX, WA, NC, MD, GU,AS, VI, MP)
2. (In NJ) Go to the Registrars’ office of the Municipal Building in the town where you were born or to the state Vital Statistics office in Trenton. (If you can do this today, you are welcome to return to this site without rescheduling your appointment).

(In PA), you can go to 101 8th St. in Philadelphia (next to PennDot/parking garage is about $7) complete a form, pay $20/per copy and pick it up in 2 days. Or you can go online to PA.Gov and order it online and receive in the mail within 2 weeks via Vital Statistics/Vital Records
New York: Birth Certificates - New York State Department of Health
(Outside of NJ/PA/DE/NY) Order a new birth certificate online at Vital Statistics/Vital Records of the state you were born in; and have it mailed to your home address. etc.
